Patrick Parker no Top Wings

Patrick procura seguir as pegadas deles.

How old are you? 27

Do you surf? Since what age? What kind of surfboard do you like and why? I have been surfing since I was 9 yrs old, learned on a 6'5" shortbaord from a local Los Angeles shaper. I enjoy both longboarding and shortboarding, no preference though, just matters what the waves are doing that day to determine what to ride.

What is your favorite kind of wave? What is the beach you like the most? What do you like in surfing? My favorite wave would be a backlit 10 ft face left barreling pointbreak someplace warm and uncrowded. My favorite beach in the world is in the Caribbean, but I am not telling where. The thing I like most about surfing is being in touch with nature, living in the moment, and relieving any stress in your life, also meeting other surfers.

Are you influenced by other surf artists? Where do your painting ideas come from? A few of my favorite surf artists are Robb Havassy, Rick Rietveld, Bill Ogden, Drew Brophy, and Phil Roberts. They have paved the way to help surf art make a stamp on modern art, and I am just looking to follow in their footsteps. Most of my painting ideas come from my travels and experiences with the ocean, or from amazing photographs or paintings that really impact me visually.

How long does it take to finish a painting/drawing? On average it takes about 15-20 hrs to complete a painting from conception. Larger pieces can take up to 60 hrs, while smaller pieces may take only a few.

Have you ever been to Brazil? What do you know about Brazil? I have yet to travel to Brazil, but going there is top on my priority list. I have a friend who owns some land in Ubatuba and will try to make it down there as soon as I can. I am a huge futbol fan and am very impressed with the amount of dominance that Brazil has shown over other countries in the Copa Mundial. I also know that the most beautiful women in the world reside on your beaches!

What are your plans for the future and what can we surfers do to help you keep producing surfing art? I plan to keep pursuing my dream of doing art for the rest of my life, and hope the surfing community will appreciate artwork from one of their own.

Anything you would like to add? Check out my website at www.patrickparkerart.com, and if you are in Southern California, let me know and we will have to meet up to go surf.
